Bert Hinkler's prototype glider built and exhibited at Bundaberg, 1928  

Caption with photograph reads: "Bert Hinkler's First Essay in Flying"

The glider was built while Hinkler was an apprentice in Bundaberg and was used successfully on the sandhills near his home (Mon Repos Beach). This photograph is of the first glider that he built.
