Speedy's ASK-14 Motorglider

Monday 11-Aug-09

Bernard "Speedy" Gonsalves and Bert Persson are making great progress with the restoration of Speedy's ASK-14 single-seat motorglider. Today at YCAB Speedy spray painted the exterior of the fuselage after many, many hours of restoration work. As can be seen from the pics below, the finish and shine achieved on the wood-construction fuselage is comparable to a fibreglass/composite finish.

No points for guessing who is keen to fly her!
The following pics provide an indication of the work that has been done on the fuselage and retractable main wheel. Much more work has been done by Speedy and Bert on refurbishing the wings.

This is what she will look like when the restoration is completed ...

Speedy's worst nightmare .......... what if the local Caboolture graffiti "artists" get to his ASK-14 after the restoration is competed?
