Regrettably
we confirm that John Sharman passed away on Sunday night (24-May-09), peacefully and with
his family present. |

John's
friendship as well as his dedication to the Club and the sport of gliding will be sadly
missed by all at CGC. |
|
| The
excellent job that John has performed for us in the role of Treasurer in recent years (as
well as the integral part that he has played as an active CGC Committee member in the
general running of the Club) has been very much appreciated. |
|
| For many years John was our Chief Duty Pilot and made a
major contribution to the Club's operations by drafting the Duty Pilot Manual and the
various Duty Pilot Check Lists. He was
also a prime instigator of the recent Pie Cart internal renovation. |

sincere sympathy, thoughts and prayers are with Olga and family at this time. |
