In recent years the GQ Easter Gliding Competeition has been hosted by the Caboolture and Boonah clubs on an alternating basis with each of these clubs hosting the event two years in a row (and the location of the competition alternating on a yearly basis between the Chinchilla and Dalby airfields).

With the Caboolture Club having hosted very popular and successful competitions at Chinchilla in 2008 and at Dalby 2009, it would have been Boonah's turn to host the event at Chinchilla for 2010.
GQ normally confirms the next host/venue soon after each year's event. However, with its proposed involvement in sponsoring the FAI's Gliding Grand Prix event in 2010, the Boonah Club has recently advised GQ that it will be unable to host the 2010 Easter Competition (FAI = Fédération Aéronautique Internationale ... the World Air Sports Federation).

GQ has therefore asked the Caboolture Club to consider hosting the event again in 2010 at Chinchilla Airfield despite the short notice (the event will be held in April 2010 ).

With the agreement of Brian and Anne Wade and their "Team Caboolture" support crew, the CGC Committe has this week confirmed to GQ that (a) CQC is available to host the GQ Easter Competition at Chinchilla in 2010 and (b) given the normal 12 months notice, CGC is available to host the GQ Easter Competition in any future year until further notice.
